Each large data center campus can consume 100-500+ MW of electricity — equivalent to powering 75,000 to 375,000 homes. Texas already experienced catastrophic grid failures during Winter Storm Uri. Adding this massive new demand without proportional generation capacity puts every Texan at risk.
Corporations receive massive tax abatements and incentives while local communities bear the burden of strained infrastructure, higher utility rates, and grid instability.
The Water Crisis

In a state where water is our most precious resource, data centers are the newest "silent" thirsty giants. A single facility can use 3 to 5 million gallons of water every day for cooling — with zero transparency.
Many of these facilities are being built in rural areas where groundwater is already scarce and agricultural communities depend on every drop. Local water districts often lack the authority or information to properly assess the long-term impact on aquifers.
Texas farmers and ranchers are being forced to compete with billion-dollar tech companies for the same finite water resources. Without immediate legislative action, rural water supplies face permanent depletion.
